Aphrodite of Rhodos

354L
Also known as the Crouching Aphrodite of Rhodos , this statue of the goddess of Love holding her hair is a classic example of the Hellenistic period fine art of sculpting. Aphrodite instead of attempting to cover up modestly she lifts her hair in her fingers to dry it, looks out at the viewer and openly displays her breasts.

Dated to the 1st century B.C., Archaeological Museum of Rhodos, Greece
