Masterfully handmade Byzantine oil lamp chandelier from Constantinople (Istanbul). Oil lamps like this are found only in monasteries and churches all over Greece and rarely in private homes.
A genuine ecclesiastical item consisting of four oil lamps, handmade of gold plated brass.

Traditionally these lamps hang in the church and burn in front of icons of Saints keeping their spirit alive. Underneath hangs a small two headed eagle, the symbol of the Byzantine empire.

The chandelier comes with a pack of special wicks. The chain has a standard length of 45 cm (18 in.).
