Holy Martyrs slain at Sinai and Raithu

Holy Martyrs slain at Sinai and Raithu

A beautiful Greek Orthodox icon depicting the scene of The Holy Fathers slain at Sinai and Raithu, handmade & hand painted by an expert Greek hagiographer.

The Holy fathers slain at Sinai and Raithu were monks and hermits murdered by the barbarians, during the reign of Diocletian, about the year 296. Forty fathers were killed at Mt. Sinai, and thirty-nine were slain at Raithu on the same day.

These Fathers are saints venerated together on January 14 by the Orthodox and Catholic Churches.

Made using traditional materials (selected aged timber frames, egg tempera, 24K gold leaf, natural powder paint and varnishes) and old techniques. It is an exact reproduction of an antique Byzantine masterpiece.

The icon bears the artist's signature on the front and the certificate of authenticity on the back.

We can have any image or Christian scene hand made on commission. Please take a look at an indicative list of additional icons available, or contact us for more information.
