Description
Exact museum reproduction of a fine ancient Greek Geometric
Chalice from the island of Chios. (more information on Geometric pottery…)
Our Greek pottery items are handmade in Greece in a small family
workshop using natural quality materials, superb craftsmanship and
attention to detail. They are licensed and modeled after museum
pieces from all over the world and bear the lead seal of authenticity.
In the front of the vase, a frieze of tongues above an arcading line.
Underneath the figure frieze, a guilloche pattern between a tongue
ornament growing from the handle roots. On the back of the vase,
ornamental design like the front but with a meander under the figure
frieze. The frieze shows wild goats, the first of which climbs up a rock
and turns back to the others.
