St. Pius X

A beautiful Greek Orthodox icon of St. Pius X, handmade & hand painted by an expert Greek hagiographer.

Pope Saint Pius X (2 June 1835 – 20 August 1914) was head of the Catholic Church from 4 August 1903 until his death in August 1914. Pius X is known for opposing modernist interpretations of Catholic doctrine, and for promoting liturgical reforms and Thomist scholastic theology. He initiated the preparation of the 1917 Code of Canon Law, the first comprehensive and systemic work of its kind, which was ultimately promulgated by his successor. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church.

Made using traditional materials (selected aged timber frames, egg tempera, 24K gold leaf, natural powder paint and varnishes) and old techniques.

The icon bears the artist’s signature on the front and the seal of authenticity on the back.

We can have any image or Christian scene hand made on commission. Please take a look at an indicative list of additional icons available, or contact us for more information.
