Athenian Elegance

Athenian Elite Officer 5th century BC.
The composite greek armor of the most prominent citizens of Athens were lined with overlapping brass scales of various sizes while the edges of the various armor sections were decorated with colorful patterns.
The Corinthian helmet this officer wears is two-toned. The dome is left in the original brass hue, and the face part has been painted black to appear more fearsome. The elevated helmet crest adds greater stature to the officer, and the metal screen of the shield is decorated with a white bullhead, one of the favorite emblems of the Athenians.
