Delpheian Helmet with engraved owl

Ancient Greek life size helmet from the city of Delphi, home of the famous Oracle of Apollo, dated 440 B.C. (find out more about Apollo…)

It bears a griffin in its crest and an engraved owl on the right cheek, probably a dedication to the Delphic oracle, the most important oracle in the classical Greek world.

Delphi became a major site for the worship of the god Apollo after he slew Python, a dragon who lived there and protected the navel of the Earth.

The helmet is offered with an optional marble stand to create a perfect display piece.

Handmade in Greece of solid bronze, an exact museum reproduction.
