An exquisite icon of Venerable Mary Magdalene Marcucci, handmade & handpainted by an expert Greek hagiographer.
Maria Maddalena Marcucci was a professed religious of the Congregation of the Nuns of the Passion of Jesus Christ. She was the foundress of two monasteries in Spain and co-foundress of three in Italy. Contemplating the Passion of the Lord and practicing the commandment to love God was the goal of Sister Maddalena’s life. She consecrated herself to this by a vow of love by which she also committed herself to bringing others to love the Lord.
She was declared Venerable in 2014.
Made using traditional materials (selected aged timber frames, egg tempera, 24K gold leaf, natural powder paint and varnishes) and old techniques.
The icon bears the artist’s signature on the front and the seal of authenticity on the back.
