Exact museum reproduction of a fine ancient Greek red figured
Amphora. (more information on Red figure pottery…)
Our Greek pottery items are handmade in Greece in a small family
workshop using natural quality materials, superb craftsmanship and
attention to detail. They are licensed and modeled after museum
pieces from all over the world and bear the lead seal of authenticity.
This amphora features a young (Hector) arming with the help of his
parents (Hekabe and Priam). The youthful mother holds the spear
and the helmet and in front of her is the shield, leaning against nothing,
while the old father stands well wrapped up, giving good advice with
raised forefinger. The young man is carefully adjusting his armor.
The reverse side shows the naked figures of three revellers in lively motion.
End of the 6th cent. B.C. Munich Museum, Germany.
