An exquisite Greek Orthodox Icon of St. Olivia of Palermo, handmade & handpainted by an expert Greek hagiographer.
Saint Olivia of Palermo (448 – 463) was a Christian virgin-martyr who was venerated as a local patron saint of Palermo, Sicily, since the Middle Ages, as well as in the Sicilian towns of Monte San Giuliano, Termini Imerese, Alcamo, Pettineo and Cefalù.
Her feast day is on 10 June. She is shown as a young woman surrounded of olive branches, holding a cross in her right hand.
Made using traditional materials (selected aged timber frames, egg tempera, 24K gold leaf, natural powder paint and varnishes) and old techniques.
The icon bears the artist’s signature on the front and the seal of authenticity on the back.
We can have any image or Christian scene hand made on commission. Please take a look at an indicative list of additional icons available, or contact us for more information.
