An exquisite silver & gold Greek Orthodox icon of St. Paraskevi.
Saint Paraskevi was born to a rich family of Iconium. Her parents were Christian, and Paraskevi was named as such (the name means “Friday” in Greek) because she was baptized on a Friday and because Friday was the day of Christ’s Passion.
Paraskevi became a preacher, and according to tradition, converted a man named Antoninus to Christianity. She was subsequently martyred at Iconium during the persecutions of Diocletian.
Made of 950o proof silver and 24k gold on a selected timber frame with the painted parts of the icon painted by hand. Exact reproduction of an antique Byzantine masterpiece.
There is a wide variety of additional silver icons available. Please contact us for more information.
