Description
An exquisite silver Greek Orthodox icon of depicting the Virgin Mary
caressing her son, so that they appear to be kissing (=Glykofilousa).
Virgin Mary appears sad, seemingly contemplating his coming Passion.
The representation from the Cretan School of the 17th Century shows
very pronounced characteristics of the Virgin Mother.
Made of 950o proof silver and 24k gold on a selected timber frame with the
painted parts of the icon painted by hand. Exact reproduction of an antique
Byzantine masterpiece.
There is a wide variety of additional silver icons available. Please contact us
