Theotokos Glykophilousa with Swarovski crystals

An exquisite silver Greek Orthodox icon of Theotokos Glykophilousa
depicting the Virgin Mary caressing her son, so that they appear to
be kissing.

Virgin Mary appears sad, seemingly contemplating his coming Passion.
The representation from the Cretan School of the 17th Century shows
very pronounced characteristics of the Virgin Mother.

Made of 950o proof silver on a selected aged timber frame with colorful
Swarovski crystals and 24k gold accentuated parts. Exact reproduction
of an antique Byzantine masterpiece.
