Theotokos Portaitissa 24k Gold with Swarovski crystals

An exquisite silver Greek Orthodox icon of Theotokos Portaitissa with Swarovski crystals.

The original icon was painted by Luke the Evangelist and is referred to as “Wonderworking” meaning that numerous miracles have been attributed to the intercession of the Theotokos (Mother of God) by persons praying before it. The original of this image is found in the Georgian Iviron monastery on Mt. Athos, where it is believed to have been since the year 999.

Made of 950o proof silver on a selected timber frame with the painted parts of the icon painted by hand. Exact reproduction of an antique Byzantine masterpiece.

The icon is 24K gold plated.
