Description
A unique Byzantine icon, handmade & handcarved by hagiographers on Mt. Athos, the Land of Orthodoxy. There, the monks who have dedicated their lives and their souls to God are creating monumental works of art, preserving the antique Byzantine art of hagiography.
This is an exact reproduction of the antique Byzantine icon of Deisis (Prayer), preserved in one of the Monasteries of Mt. Athos in Northern Greece.
The icon shows Christ the Light-giver in the center with the Archangels St. Michael & St. Gabriel left and right. On top there are Virgin Mary and St. John the Forerunner, while on the bottom the Saints Peter, Nicholas and Paul are depicted.
The icon is handmade to order, it bears the Seal of Authenticity on the back and is signed and numbered by the artist.
